Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education officially published the list of the First Batch of MOE Philosophy and Social Sciences Innovation Groups. Professor Wei Lu’s Information Intelligence and Technology Security Group is on the list, which is the only innovation group in Hubei universities and colleges. The group experts also include Bo Du, Xiaoguang Wang, Haigang Sui, Zhixiong Huang, Jiang Wu, Lu An, Tingting Jiang, and Yong Huang.

The construction of the MOE Philosophy and Social Sciences innovation groups is an action for serving the country's major strategic needs and promoting the construction of China's independent knowledge system in the field of education. According to the Measures for Supporting Innovation Groups of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education (Trial), the first batch of MOE Philosophy and Social Sciences innovation groups were finally determined by the Ministry of Education after strict procedures such as application, qualification review, meeting review and defense review.

Adhering to the group building requirements formulated by Wuhan University, this application is mainly based on the discipline of information resources management of our School, integrating the strengths of surveying and mapping, law, computer science, making great efforts to promote the cross-integration of disciplines, effectively enhancing the ability to study and solve major theoretical and practical issues, and strongly supporting the construction of important talent pool and innovative sites.

About the Information Intelligence and Technology Security Group

Facing the great demand of national science and technology innovation and security, the Information Intelligence and Technology Security Group takes the construction of information intelligence capability as the core and the construction of science and technology security guarantee capability as the demonstration, builds an interdisciplinary, thick-based and strong-crossing superior innovation group, focuses on three research directions: situation awareness and data governance, intelligent information and multi-collaboration, science and technology security and intelligent decision-making, and follows the overall route of "resource construction-innovation support-security guarantee" to build an intelligence knowledge system with China characteristics. Group members have successively undertaken more than 20 important scientific research projects, including the National 2030 "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" major project, the National Social Science Fund major project, the National Key R&D Plan, and the National Natural Science Fund key projects.
