On Novermber 27th, 2017, Nature Index (https://www.natureindex.com) subordinate to Nature Publishing Group reported online the research achievements of Professor Zhao Rongying and Wei Mingkun, Ph.D., which indicates how Wechat acts as a way of academic impact evaluation. Wechat (WeiXin in Chinese) as one of the social media tools not only enriches the development of social media tools, but also provides a new perspective and method for the evaluation of academic influence.
