On April 24th, the 2025 SIM Faculty and Staff Inauguration and Postdoctoral Stationing Ceremony, Student Commendation, and Art Show was grandly held in the main hall of the Humanities Pavilion of Wuhan University.

VIPs attended the event were as followings:

Feicheng Ma, University Distinguished Professor in Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University;

Chuanfu Chen, University Distinguished Professor in Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University;

Hailan Shangguan, Deputy Director of the Wuhan University CPC Teachers' Affairs Department;

Yuan Wang, Deputy Director of the Wuhan University CPC Students’ Affairs Department;

Hui Xu, Deputy Director of the Wuhan University CPC Graduate Students’ Affairs Department;

Yi Yu, CYLC Deputy Secretary of the Wuhan University;

Ying Lin, Deputy Director of the Wuhan University Teaching Development Center;

Jiagang Hu, Deputy Director of the Graduate Quality and Degree Office, Graduate School of Wuhan University;

Jun Tao, CPC Secretary of our School;

Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of our School;

and all other school leaders, faculty and staff of our School, representatives of undergraduate and graduate students.

At 2:30 pm, the group dance performance Celebrate May 4th - Dance Together for a Glorious Chapter by the champion team of the 11th Wuhan University Graduate Group Dance Competition kicked off the ceremony. The dancers' light and powerful dance steps showed the vigorous vitality of youth and ignited the atmosphere at the scene.

First session, the SIM Faculty and Staff Inauguration and Postdoctoral Stationing Ceremony was held. Feicheng Ma and Hailan Shangguan presented inauguration commemorative plaques to the representatives of newly appointed teachers in 2024, including Fuzhen Liu, Xin Yin, Jindong Qin, Hui Zhang, and Duantengchuan Li. Chuanfu Chen and Xiaoguang Wang presented stationing commemorative plaques to the representatives of newly stationed postdocs: Chen He, Sicheng Guo, Qingyu Duan, Guiyan Ou, Zequan Luan, Zhijian Zhang, Li Qiu, Zhentao Liang, and Jingrui Hou. Subsequently, Chuanfu Chen led the new teachers and postdocs in a collective recitation of The Inscription on Teachers' Morality, eloquently expounding the perseverance in teachers’ ethics and the mission of education. The entry of these teachers will contribute youthful strength to the construction and development of the School.

The second session - the student commendation session. In 2024, the students of the School of Information Management won numerous awards with an enterprising attitude. The student associations performed brilliantly, such as the Excellent Student Union, Excellent Graduate Student Union, and Top Ten Volunteer Service Collectives of Wuhan University. The grass-roots collectives did outstanding work, including the May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch of Wuhan University, Advanced Class Collective Pacesetter, and Civilized Dormitory Pacesetter. Students’ activities such as women's basketball, men's volleyball, dance, chorus, and psychological scene drama were progressive.

After that, the School student dance association presented an Ode to Youth to the audience.

In the past year, the students of the School of Information Management have shone in diverse ways. Some carry forward fine traditions and act upright; some delve into academic research and study diligently; some devote themselves to scientific and technological innovation and forge ahead; some focus on social work and are steady and reliable; or they develop comprehensively and sound the strong voice of youth. They write the glory of the people of the School of Information Management with actions, which will inspire more students of the School of Information Management to stand at the forefront and pursue their dreams.

The School student chorus association sang You Have Me, and the warm and firm voice affected everyone on and off the stage to sing together, and the first half of the event ended perfectly.

The second half of the art show was wonderful. The students of the School of Information Management showed their unique skills through multiple art forms such as solo singing, dancing, and magic, radiating passionate youth vitality and positive youth style.

As the warm applause at the scene gradually subsided, the 2025 SIM Faculty and Staff Inauguration and Postdoctoral Stationing Ceremony, Student Commendation, and Art Show came to a successful conclusion. Behind the scenes, the people of the School of Information Management carefully planned, meticulously prepared, and wonderfully held the event. Every link witnessed the firm pace of the faculty and student team of the School of Information Management working together. In the future, we will still not forget our original intention, move forward side by side, and strive to write a more splendid chapter.
